Who's RULING You??
The greater attention you give to someone or some thing, can become the "god" over you. It begins to 'rule' you, to 'reign' over you. Before long, it 'consumes' you.
Sometimes we give in to little spurts of fear, fearful of our future, our children, our jobs in the workplace. Worry, worrying about tomorrow, about bill-paying, worrying about our health. Stress can take its toll. Stressing out over small menial things that we allow to become monstrosities. Anger sometimes can step in and rule. (Still) angry over things that did or did not happen in our past. Anger over things we have no control of. Anger that eats its way to unforgiveness. Manipulation creeps in. Lies and greed begin to surface and lead. Lead to dishonesty, and more.
The question now is, "What or Who is RULING You?"
The Bible says, "...let the peace of God rule your heart". God's peace can settle, stamp out, destroy any one or anything that rises or creeps up in our hearts. Let's face it, day to day issues we face can easily influence and affect our way of thinking, even our faith. But God's peace can cut right to the core (older people used to say, "right to the quick"), and quiet any storm, if (when) we allow it.
Let's allow 'God's peace' to rule our hearts. We win.

A Great Loss
Our hearts are saddened by another great loss. Our prayers go out to the entire family of Whitney Houston. We love you, we will miss you. You will forever be in our hearts.

Greater Appreciation
I visited the beautiful city of San Juan, Puerto Rico recently. Beautiful weather, beautiful culture, wonderful and friendly people, rich history, well-preserved buildings. I have acquired a greater appreciation for my Latino-African-Indian blooded brothers and sisters. How we all in general share a common bond, common thread, same blood. Amazing experience. Thank you Dr. Bob Price, Black & Reformed Ministry Planning Team Ethnic Director.
